Organic life

“Organic Life” is a series of works from 2015, created on 300 gsm natural white Arches oil paper (560mm x 760mm). These pieces are a direct reflection of, response to, and reworking of the Australian rainforest that surrounds my home near Sydney. My inspirations draw from American and German Abstract Expressionism, contemporary graffiti, and Aboriginal art. In both content and process, these works strive to capture the raw, kinetic energy of the natural world, using bold gestures and layered marks to translate the sensory experience of the rainforest into a visual language.
